About
Helen lives in East Dulwich, London, and has enjoyed taking pictures for as long as she can remember.
With degrees in Communication Studies and Research Methods, she ran her own successful research business for many years; working for art organisations, galleries, museums and funding bodies.
However, that feeling that she really should give a photographic career a go wouldn’t go away. It was after a stint of travelling across Central America with her new Mamiya 645 that she decided to make the switch and become a professional photographer. She went on to study photography at London College of Communication, part of University of the Arts, where she graduated with a distinction in Professional Photography Practice.
Today, she specialises in creating striking images of architecture and interiors, plants and gardens, and food. She also enjoys working for arts organisations, museums and galleries.
As well as taking on photography commissions, Helen is a photography and gardening volunteer at Thrive, a charity that uses gardening to transform the lives of people with disabilities.
Helen works with large- and medium-format cameras as well as SLRs, and can shoot on digital, film and transparency, her philosophy being use whatever tools are needed for the job!
